Baseball and Fish

A good day aboard Namani today - we heard this morning on the SSB from another Rally boat that the Red Sox won the World Series (we hope that's correct because the transmission was somewhat broken up). Then we got lucky and caught a big fish (we'll post pictures from Lanzarote so you can tell us what type we actually caught) which provided a filling lunch. We were told in Gibraltar that the best way to quickly kill fish is to pour some alcohol into its gills...

And... they're off!

Yes, we're off! At 0830 this morning we slipped our moorings at Marina Bay in Gibraltar and went to Europa Point where the Blue Water Rally's official start took place at 1000. While Europa Point had its usual 4m+ waves we are now out of the Strait, off Morocco's northwestern corner, sailing downwind, wing-on-wing with poled out genoa over flat seas... it doesn't get much better! About 550 nm to go to Lanzarote - stay tuned for further upates...
